Relevant vocabulary
You must include relevant vocabulary in the lesson. Limit your vocabulary to what your students can process and make sure it's actively used in context throughout the class. Let your students use words interactively during class as well.

Use relevant vocabulary. Teachers have to choose what will be most important and effective. They need to teach vocabulary through a graphic organizer, an experience, or whatever they need to help students achieve it.

Limited Conference
There must be a limited class period. After 12-15 minutes of classes, you should engage your students in some kind of activity, even if it only takes a few minutes.

The teacher can teach again for another part of the time. Examples: Ask students to talk to their neighbor, draw a picture, write a few sentences that summarize or describe the class, finish a sample problem, or talk to their group.

Graphic Organizer
Using a graphic organizer allows students to visually classify new information or review old information.

Students should be able to conceive all the information we give them. The graphic organizer is suitable for students. When they look at organized information, it's easier for them to keep and store that information. And when they go home, looking at that information is less intimidating than pulling out a notebook that contains pages and pages of notes.

Examples: Have students record information in colorful graphics in their notebooks, use computers to create graphic organizers, or create a “foldable” one.

Student movement
The student movement is essential. Students need to move at some point during class to ensure they are actively involved. This is probably the biggest challenge for Cochrane teachers, as it can be intimidating when students move out.

However, the student movement can be viewed in different ways, and that doesn't always mean students have to stand up. All you have to do is physically commit to what the teacher is doing. This is important because students don't like to sit still, especially male students. They found that when they get up and move around the room, male students are totally committed to what the teacher is doing.
