Now, Fallout 76 has another issue to deal with in the form of a secret dev room. As reported by Eurogamer, the room may have been discovered as far back as several weeks ago, but has only begun to surface publicly over the last four or five days. A video that showcases what the room looks like was uploaded to YouTube by someone named by "Mr. X," but has since been taken down, only to be re-uploaded by someone else who managed to acquire it before it disappeared.
Inside the developer room are plans for every item in the game, including plans for some items that are thought to be coming to the game in future updates. Bethesda has promised big changes for the game this year, including player vs. player combat. Reports of the existence of the room first surfaced on Reddit a few days back, and word is that gamers on Discord have known about the room for several weeks. A video of the room and how it works was posted by a player called Mr. X on YouTube but was later removed; a different user has re-uploaded the video.
Speaking of other items, players have actually found certain skins in this room that haven't been added to the game yet. Remarkably, it's actually possible to take the skins out of this room and use them in the live game. It seems that this element of the room has caused Bethesda to step in and start issuing bans for anyone who actually takes the skins or any other items from this room. This comes after some players attempted to sell these skins online ahead of their intended release date. It's not clear if similar bans are being issues for people who just choose to enter the room. By the way, you can buy cheap Fallout 76 Caps from mmocs.com, where you can enjoy a 3% discount by using the code “ MMOCSVIP ”.
Unsurprisingly, Bethesda isn’t especially pleased that gamers have discovered it, and it’s wielding the ban-hammer liberally to anybody taking advantage. According to reports on Reddit and elsewhere, there are automatic bans being issued for anybody who visits the developer room. If you want to get access back, you’ll apparently have to explain to them how, exactly, you got in.
However, that cache of items isn’t just limited to high-level loot. Others have found unreleased armor paints, (which Eurogamer also found). This has riled up the game’s subreddits, where advertising unreleased items for trade has gotten some banned, and discussing or asking for directions on how to break into the room is sorely frowned upon.
Wooby is indeed the oddest part of this developer room. The strange NPC just hangs there. It’s possible he could have been added into the game for Bethesda to test how NPCs could fare in a game that’s so famously decried them, but the developer has kept mostly mum on the situation. |
